A conversation with singer-songwriter Teddy Thompson. Listen to program

I was about twenty when a friend called me to say, “You really have to hear Teddy Thompson sing.” And they were right. Since then, Teddy has become one of my favorite songwriters. As well as a singular singing voice, Teddy has a singular point of view as a writer. I was lucky enough to spend last month on tour in the UK with Teddy and his band, and am not sure when I have last laughed so hard. I spoke with Teddy backstage before our show in Dublin about British humor, his distaste for overwrought, daily songwriting, and how to find your own way whether your parents are Richard and Linda Thompson or not. Check it out.
